Steven Swanson began his career in 1999 at Prudential Insurance Corporation with a firm commitment to the understanding that the basic principle of financial planning begins in areas that work toward protecting and building a foundation for success. From there he spent 16 years with JP Morgan Wealth Management working directly with private clients on their private banking platform. He focused on helping families and businesses set and work toward achieving their financial goals. It was during this time he found how much he enjoyed working with his peers as a coach and teacher to grow their careers in this industry. He also realized how important it is to surround oneself with a team to provide a wide array of products and services to his clients.
In 2016, Steven founded Atlas Wealth Management with a passion to provide his clients and peers with a team approach to wealth management. With over 25 years of industry experience, Steven had a vision of expanding his scope of services without limitation while adhering to a strict Fiduciary focus. This along with a strong team concept allows each member of Atlas to draw upon their collective knowledge to provide their clients with multi-faceted wealth management strategies tailored to each client’s individual objectives. This approach sets the foundation of Atlas Wealth Management and allows them to separate themselves from other firms.
Steven is a 1999 graduate of the University of St. Francis. He has earned his FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 66 registrations. Currently held through LPL Financial. He also holds licenses in Life, Health, and Property and Casualty insurance. In 2019 he completed the Certified Financial Planner certificate program through the Northwestern University School of Professional Studies and has met the CFP Board's educational, experience, examination, and ethical requirements. He has committed to providing financial planning services that adhere to the CFP Board's standards of excellence.
As an active member of the local community, Steven has supported the growing needs of families and businesses in search of clarity and direction in the planning process. He has been a proud supporter of St. Joseph School in Lockport, St. AL/St Patrick School in Lemont, St. Mary’s School in Mokena, Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox, and Lockport Township High School in Lockport, IL. Atlas Wealth Management is a proud supporter of the Frankfort Fall Festival, Frankfort Bluegrass Festival, New Lenox Summer Concert Series, New Lenox Christmas in the Commons, The Crisis Center of South Suburbia and Hugs, Joliet. Atlas can be found helping with the New Lenox VFW and many local youth athletic programs.
He and his wife Lisa reside in Homer Glen with their daughter Madison, their son Vincent and their German Shepherd, Maya. Steven has hung up the coach’s whistle now that his children are older but can be found cheering for Vincent on the Lockport Soccer field, Go Porters!! Madison attends the University of Tennessee with designs on taking over dad’s business. She must earn it! Steve believes in the development of team building and time management skills provided by athletics.
